BATH
A SPECIAL PLACE
The only city in the UK designated by
UNESCO as a World Heritage Site, Bath
is a uniquely special living environment. Combining as it does, the benefits of
a wealth of beautiful buildings, green
open spaces, with a centre of easily
discovered proportions and sophisticated
and stimulating shopping and restaurant
facilities.
New technology frees many from the occupational
constraints of working in London, and
Bath, with its exceptional quality of
life, has been the incubator for a whole

as Future Networks, Paragon Publishing,
IPL and Kramer Systems.
THE
FACILITIES
For last minute shopping there is the
Tesco Metro 200 metres away. For more
serious everyday shopping, Bear Flat
is close at hand. Bus stops on Midford
Road and Frome Road, and the nearby
park and ride delivers you to the City
Centre in minutes.
A wide range of schools, including St
Gregorys, Beechen Cliff,
Ralph Allen, Prior Park and Monkton
Combe, and Bath University are all easily
accessible.
Leisure facilities include the Bath
Sports Centre, Bath University Olympic
standard sporting facilities, and in
due course, the new Spa buildings.
ST
MARTINS THE CONTEXT
The St Martins campus includes
a series of Georgian and Victorian buildings
comprising the Hexagon, the Old Bakery
and the Old Stables. These buildings
are being restored to provide 25 private
apartments for sale, 16 key worker shared
ownership apartments for sale, and 17
key worker apartments to rent. The Old
Bakery will be restored as houses.
Beyond the Hexagon, on what was formally
the cricket pitch will be a green and
58 new houses for sale.
The remainder of the campus will continue
to be occupied by the hospital, which
specialises in care for the elderly.
CULTURE
Baths internationally renowned
Music Festival has a sibling in the
form of the increasingly influential
literature festival.
The Theatre Royal, originally the prettiest
theatre in the UK, has just celebrated
its 200th anniversary.
At the other end of the spectrum is
the recently opened multiplex cinema
complex in Kingsmead Square.
THE
GREAT ESCAPE
The open countryside is a few minutes
away Combe Hay, the Midford Valley
and picturesque pubs are all close at
hand. The Kennet and Avon canal, Babbington
House, Homewood Park are just some of
the places to visit nearby.
